Born in Duesseldorf, Germany, Thomas Kruesselmann picked up both a stills and a film-camera at age 13 and never let go of them. Literature and Media studies at Heinrich Heine University, a few years in advertising, writing concepts and TV-commercials, preceded the final destination of visual artist. Working as a freelance photographer and director since 1999,he has shot numerous advertising campaigns and motion content for clients such as Braun, Gardeur, Wella, Sony, RTL Television, Fujifilm, Citroen or Microsoft. Thomas often creates stills and motion within one production, on one budget, in one visual language. Although Thomas' trend is towards fashion and beauty, his portfolio contains elements of lifestyle and documentary imagery. Evidence of his personal body of work can be found in various exhibitions and collections.
Since 2008, Thomas is a professional member of the BFF Bund Freischaffender Fotodesigner. He lives in the Duesseldorf area, but frequently shoots in New York City and Los Angeles.
