Rebecca Litchfield. Soviet abandoned Buildings can be beautiful

Photographs of abandoned buildings can quickly get pretty boring and repetitive, but British photographer Rebecca Litchfield has managed to mix things up, travelling out to the derelict remains of the Soviet empire. Trekking through eastern Europe, from Chernobyl to Estonia, Litchfield was able to document sights rarely seen by Western eyes, including the incredible Buzludzha monument - a spaceship-esque building constructed in communist Bulgaria in the 1970s, and the former US Teufelsberg spy station in West Berlin. The trip didn't always run smoothly, however, and her team were interrogated for 10 hours straight after being caught photographing a top-secret radar station. (via Huhmagazine)
